„Crossroads of Europe : Toulouse 2013 – Cultural Routes between local development and European identity“

The conference and fair „Crossroads of Europe“ will highlight the importance of European Cultural Routes in the development of a new form of tourism, focused on the respect of environment, culture and populations.

The conference will underline how cultural tourism – and especially cultural routes – can, beyond the diversity of European cultures, strengthen the sense of common values and heritage, and reinforce the feeling of European citizenship. 2013 is the European Year for citizenship.

Workshops will bring together stakeholders of European tourism industry, cultural organisations and public authorities to explore the ways to work together on the promotion of cultural routes, their contribution to the diversification of tourism and to sustainability.

An exhibition on European cultural routes will show cultural events in relation with the week of Europe in Toulouse.

The events are open to all – cultural and tourism associations, international organisations, national and regional authorities,  travel agents and tour operators, specialised journalists.
